I saw this beautiful Wedge-tailed Eagle a couple of days ago sitting on one of the powerline poles by the highway just outside Elliott. In my experience this is a little unusual, they are normally on a tree or sitting on the ground, but I was glad to see it, being so much larger than almost any other bird, you can tell it is a Wedgy from some distance away: I did get the creepy feeling he was just sizing me up, to see if I was either good enough for a feed, or liable to cause harm, but I was pleased to see it still sitting there as I drove off:
