Finches and Mannikans, photos and a few words

Over the past week I have been spoilt with the number and photographic opportunities of Finches and Mannikans. I love the Zebra Finches in Central Australia, but to see the colour and personalities on show of the top end birds is such a treat.

Crimson, Masked, Long-tailed and Double-barred Finches, and then the Chestnut-breasted Mannikan in Kakadu and now in Darwin is just awesome. The Crimson, Masked and Long-tailed Finches were not as friendly as the latter two, but still the "zzzz" they make always gets the heart-rate up as I know they are around somewhere, and finding out which variety is exciting.

The first group are the two from Darwin:
