Spiny-cheeked Honeyeaters I think have been duped in their naming. They have a lovely voice at times, have wonderful colour in both their body and face, and yet someone chose a small feature to hone in on as a naming convention.
This afternoon I had four in the back yard. As I listened to them call one another, and watch over one another, I felt glad they don't know their names as we humans call them as I'm sure with all that colour on display, they would be quite disappointed:
