Sorry for those of you who are expecting a normal blog post, but this one is a little different. for those of you who are unaware of a previous life of mine, I painted Emus on Aprons for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival. A sample of these can be found on my other website.
After a couple of encounters with the Australian Bustard in W.A.last year, and at the Douglas Daly this year, and finally during the Red Centre Twitchathon earlier this month, it suddenly struck me that these were a great source of inspiration for the next phase of my painting to take place.
Here is the first of (hopefully) many. You will understand the theme I think. Apologies to a certain Alice Springs Desert Park Manager for displaying this without permission.
I hope you enjoy.

The "Old Bustard":
As the recipient of that first bustard apron, I am deeply honoured. Thanks Richard. It is a wonderful gift.
