Over the past few months I have been lucky enough to drive past a location that has been very consistent in providing fairly close-up experiences with Bourke's Parrots. A few weeks ago I stopped at the same spot and couldn't locate them. This happened again the following week. But last week, they were back and between the 7 parrots I saw, only a couple kept clear of me, although there was a fair bit of foliage in between. The males are photos 1, 2 and 4, the female below (photo 3) has the less vibrantly coloured feathers.
