The Top End really is a wonderful birding destination

I have been lucky enough to come to the Top End of the Northern Territory a number of times, mostly during the dry season and it really is a bird-watcher's paradise. Below is a small sample of some of the amazing birdlife I have seen on this trip.

Whistling Kite (lots of these and Black Kites)

Beach Stone-curlew

Black Butcherbird

Grey-tailed Tattlers

Lemon-bellied Flycatcher

Red-tailed Black Cockatoo
(I always thinkof these away from the coast, this one was with a number of friends at Nightcliff Beach)

Eastern Osprey

Brahminy Kite

Red-headed Honeyeater

Red-winged Parrot

Rainbow Bee-eater

Forest Kingfisher

Broad-billed Flycatcher

Brolga

Pied Heron

Wandering Whistling Duck and ducklings

White-necked or Pacific Heron
