Large flock of Red-tailed Black Cockatoos and other birds of Kings Creek Station

On Thursday morning I started travelling from Kings Creek Station campground to Areyonga. Along the way I saw a large flock of Red-tailed Black Cockatoos feeding in amongst the remnants of a recent fire:

  1. wonderful bird-life up there and to see so many of the red-tailed blacks. I've never seen one with its comb up and didn't expect it to be as big as it appears here. For a moment I thought of a palm-cockatoo!

  3. It really is interesting to see birds which are so very much more exotic looking than most of ours. The Port Lincoln Parrot has such striking colours. Lovely captures.
