Cockatiels nesting, budgies drinking

A short stopover on the way back into town and the noise was amazing. The budgerigars are out in force, into the hundreds if not thousands. With the noise they were making, it was hard to hear the higher pitch of the cockatiels. I stood by a tree for about ten minutes and I could hear something clawing or pecking at the wood, but I couldn't see it on the tree. Finally I found the female Cockatiel standing guard over a hole where a branch had once been, and sure enough, in due time, the male appeared from within the hollow:

From behind me I heard a rapidly approaching group and looked up to see both Budgies and Cockatiels wheeling and circling. The shots aren't fantastic, but it does give an indication of the size differences of the two species:

A bit later I came across a puddle on the road, parked the car and waited, hoping that the Budgerigars would need a drink, I wasn't disappointed:

"Incoming!"
