Sacred Kingfisher and others in Backyard

Over the past few days we have had some interesting visitors to our backyard. This Sacred Kingfisher sat on the fence outside the kitchen window above the pool:
We have had both Sacred and Red-backed Kingfishers hanging around recently. We have also had a couple of Western Bowerbirds visit most days. I suspect it may be the same family who were frequent visitors earlier in the year:
A young Whistling Kite sat at the top of one of our gum trees on Saturday morning. We have had them sitting in the larger gums next door, but never in our backyards. The Galahs and Australian Ringnecks have been feeding on the seedpods over the past month or so, and the White-plumed Honeyeaters and Yellow-throated Miners are a constant presence. With the summer rains starting in Central Australia, it is shaping up to be another couple of months of exciting avian arrivals.
